Don’t forget the best part of P4:

Successfully getting behind a shadow only to misjudge the distance and miss when you go to start the battle

it never fails to make me laugh when you use the elevator and the contrary door opens

The persona series is one of those games where literally any random battle can either go smooth as butter or just turn into a complete shit show and all you can do is sit there, screaming at your monitor or T.V while you watch the party get wiped.

- Try to hit Golden Hand;
- Open chest instead;
- Get a shadow one;
- End battle;
- Golden Hand despawn;
- *PAIN*

As someone who went from P5 to P4, there’s one more thing that I personally dealt with for Yukiko’s Castle:
Accidentally pressing X to try and use a spell, only to start a Rush

As someone who played P4 before P5, P5 was pretty easy

Be thankful that you played the golden version.

They only annoying part in P4 Golden (I only relatively recently got into the persona series) was trying to guess the weaknesses. In 5 there's at least some method to the madness, in 4 I just spammed attacks because, like a famous fan comic once said: "None of the weaknesses ever make sense, just keep spamming attacks untim you get it right."

I played P4 first and I'm now currently on my first P5 playthrough, and wow, it definetely feels a lot easier. I thought it was because I already knew how most of the systems worked (since the majority of them work the same as they did in 4), but seeing this video reminded me that P4 can be brutal sometimes

I was lucky enough to be one of the first North American reviewers to cover P3 and P4. Back then, barely anyone knew what Persona was. But playing through P3, I knew Atlus was on to something special. So when the P4 press copy was up for grabs, I immediately jumped on the assignment. I kind of lost track of time; I burned through everything up until finishing the Shadow Teddie fight in a single sitting, then finished the game later in the week. It was one of my favorite experiences as a reviewer. Even if P5 is easy, it's amazing to see how far the series has come in such a short time.

And this is why we eliminate every shadow in sight in the beginning kids.

Edit: obviously you murder every shadow in sight later as well, I just meant especially in the beginning because you can’t afford to skip out on any EXP or money.

Should've also added the Contrarian King using Rampage to one shot the party whenever he felt like it.

I played in order of release since I was like 14. I went back to P3 after I finished P5 out of nostalgia. It was a blood bath.

Takes me back to Vanilla P4 and those beetles, who enrage your party and reflect physical damage, at the mid-point of the first dungeon. P4G got rid of them.

If you set the money and xp to "more" in the difficulty setting, it makes P4 feel WAY MORE like P5.

This is me playing the P3 post game and casually going. "How much harder than P3 could it be?" Soon eating my words on my 62th try on the first boss

"I should really get around to finishing Persona 4, I think I only had one or two dungeons left."

"Okay, time to press triangle to use magic."

P5 is feeling like a breeze after P4’s aggressiveness
