Hey man, do you still dig the Y-cable over the traditional jumper? These 4 holers are often pretty darn bright!

Interesting vid! I have a '72 Super Lead with a PPIMV modification to tame the volume a bit. I've always jumped the channels since I bought it 35 years ago, but lately I've been wondering if there would be a difference using a Y-cable. Over the years I've been seeking more brightness in my tone as my hearing seems to be getting worse. I used to play thru the amp with the bright and normal channels at about equal levels but recently still have the bright channel at about 7 and rolled down the normal channel to between 4 and 5. I think I noticed a bit more brightness and less wooliness when you were using the Y-cable as you had commented on. Do you still think that is a valid assessment and what were those "other things going on" that you mentioned?

Yeah, you're wright. It is brighter. But in the room I presume the highest fidelity of differences was available to the player. Therefore, which of the options seemed superb to you? Maybe the Y cable with rolled off tone control would make it to the jumping cables thing?
