Ukraine's Zelensky announces fast-track NATO membership bid

PRESIDENT Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine was formally applying for fast-track membership of the NATO military alliance and that Kyiv was ready for talks with Moscow, but not with President Putin.

The Ukrainian leader's message appeared intended as a rebuttal to the Kremlin after Putin proclaimed the annexation of four partially occupied Ukrainian regions.
