Creating action in others sometimes is assisted by them being able to see or feel the future. Actions are typically based on beliefs and if you can utilize existing belief systems in others when communicating, it often helps someone see what you are saying quicker and easier. That’s why metaphors and scenarios hold so much power. Something that can be equally powerful is the use of a hypothetical conditional outcome.
