The average rent in my area is about $1200 for a one bedroom apartment $1400 for a two bed. I'm not even in the 'city' I live almost an hour from downtown Atlanta. Not to mention most renters want the first month pluss a $500 - $600 deposit as well as proof you make 4× the rent. Yes they expect people who make $4000 a month to pay that price for a one bedroom apartment. Did I mention employment is rare as gold here? And the average wage is about $10 an hour? Also we're surrounded by old money (people who think everyone can just get thousands of dollars with ease) So they demand the rent remain high so only wealthy *cough* white *cough* people can live here. For young people like me it's a nightmare.

People need to organize and collectively boycott high rent. We're not working together, we're in competition amongst each other at every level. The people at the bottom have a mountain to climb and it will take everything they have and most will never make it

I dont feel like companies should pay people 15 dollars an hour as minimum wage, I feel like the price of living shouldn't be so high though because I don't care where you work at if you work over 40 hours a week anywhere in the world you should be able to take care of yourself properly 700 dollars a week month is almost an entire pay check for most people and then they have to take care of their other bills.

That seams entirely backwards. If the rent keeps going up how can people save for a down paymant on a house????
