This older vid just popped up on my google youtube feed. I just bought my first scooter, the NIU kqi2 pro, Best Buy had it for $379.00. For that price, it seemed like a good place to start. It's been great fun so far. I was really debating and still am on getting a full suspension and will probably do that within the next year. Your site/channel helped me to make the decision, thanks!

Only two scooters in this video are even an option for me. That’s the two EMOVE scooters because they both have adjustable handlebars. Every video I’ve watched seems to neglect this fact, even EMOVE’s own website doesn’t make much mention of it (or bother to tell you the full range of said handlebars). I’m barely 5” 2’ with shoes on. Most scooters are way too tall for a shorter female, or even a shorter male, but that doesn’t mean these people aren’t looking for scooter and having a really hard time of it. It took me forever to realize some eScooters have adjustable handlebars because nobody ever mentions it! It’s frustrating! We are not all tall. I’m leaving this note here so maybe in future videos you can consider your shorter audience and let them know more info on the scooters best for them. 😊

l feel like the niu KQi3 max is the best escooter for new riders. good range speed and the price is amazing.

for long term use, dont waste your money on emove cruiser and touring. those are alibaba rebranded scooters same as Yume d5+ or Nanrobot d4+. these scooters have stem wobble after awhile, and the controllers tend to get faulty. best to buy quality brand like segway.

I guess you can consider me an newbie. Got the FreegoEV ES10 my first scooter in August. (Stay away from it, it was too much work repairing constantly). I tried the Etow GT and it was 27lbs, 750 watss, solid honeycomb tires and gets about 27 miles, top speed 28 to 30, was fun to ride. Even though the ES10 was 2000 watt dual motors it cause me so many headaches electrically.

Love the videos. Admittedly I ignored your advice and bought a nami burn e 2 max as my first scooter. Zero regrets. If I die, I'll die smiling.

I love how ESG always gives out non bias suggestions and reviews. They have motivated me so much to get into the micromobility. I am soon gonna get a scooter for myself ❤️

So I decided to get emove touring, can’t wait to get back to California and put to use in the high desert, wish me luck. A shout out to this channel for helping in the process.

I recently purchased an Emove Cruiser and crashed on the third day of riding (my fault entirely, scooters aren't made for mud). Thankfully, I was wearing a helmet and only got some minor scrapes, but I learned something important about the scooter when the only damage I discovered was a cracked voltmeter and fender. The biggest takeaway I can give about the Cruiser is that Voro has some great priorities. They made some sacrifices in material quality (I've stripped bolts and scratched some paint off the soft frame in my attempt to waterproof it), but they didn't cheap out on the most important parts, like the battery, motor, and suspension. If I had to design a high-end commuter scooter, I would've done the same thing. Learning about scooter maintenance is part of the fun, right? In all seriousness, I'd still wholeheartedly recommend the Cruiser, but there's some danger when referring to it with near-total optimism.

I had the original Uscooter (etwow) back in 2014
I'm 6 1, 225 lbs.
Speed was 16, kick for 19mph
Distance was mind boggling 24-25 miles with KERS Regen braking.
28lbs

In 2021 I ride buddies Kaabo mantis 8 (41moh with dual motor)
2000 watt (1000+1000)
Used one motor at a time fur overall distance (33mi) Bec 9-12 hour charge is 😜
Drop it down to 25ish mile range if you drop the hammer 🔨 in dual motor mode (mofo mode)
Not for woosies
I rode in traffic next to pickup 🛻 doing max 41 mph for about 5 blocks.

Sounds fun but one mistake and damn you're 🚑 🩸
Single motor 25mph was fine

My first scooter is the Unagi. Very easy and forgiving. However, it really needs a suspension system. So much vibration on bumps and cracks. Feels like an earthquake sometimes. Good power, but bad ride quality. It gets really sketchy at 15+ mph, and starts wobbling. 7/10 in my opinion. Just badly needs a suspension system.

NIU just released an ultra budget scooter the Kqi1, it might be interesting to check it!

What do you recommend between niu kqi2, hiboy s2 pro, hiboy s2 or Segway ninebot e22?

I'm new but I am also a bicycle commuter. I find because I move my body much less on the e-scooter it's easier to wear more gear. I got a full face (chinbar) Mountain bike helmet from a bike shop and some knee/elbow pads and wrist guards from Amazon. I also got a mirror for the scooter to be more aware of cars around me. I commute on a busy road with a painted bike lane.

I got the kqi3 max a few weeks ago, it’s my second after the unagi and I love it

The unagi is PERFECT for new riders cause of the subscription and after putting well over 500 miles on my unagi in just 3 months (the odometer konked out on me 😂) Ive been spoiled by a 30 pound weight and a 20 mph top speed and I'm not willing to compromise on those points but I'm also sick of only getting 6 miles of range (I can't even get the 8.5 you guys get and I'm not a big guy at all) so it looks like the u scooters gt sport might be the only option for me on this list despite the ride quality (as an unagi rider it's not like I'm not used to mediocre ride quality)

Are there any other scooters with these qualifications that might have a better ride quality? I've also been looking at the fluid mosquito which I noted isn't on this list

You guys rock!

Hi from NJ. I love your channel. New subscriber here. I’m 5’-8” tall and weigh 248 pound. My budget is $1k and I think the NIU KQi3 Max fit on me. What do you think? Any recommendation? Thanks a lot.
