Galaxy Nexus first hands-on

The first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone in the world, Samsung's Galaxy Nexus.

a few days ago I didn't know what this phone was. I was going to get a 4S, then I did my research and found the Galaxy S2, then I saw something for the Nexus, and I am so glad I waited to renew my contract. I can't wait to get the new ICS OS and this phone looks SEXY!

Bought my Galaxy S2 4 months ago.. Now another even more powerful phone is out. Bigger screen display, specs, cool and awesome ice cream sandwich.. Gosh.. I'm getting the urge to change phone but nope.. Still need to stick with my S2 for the next 1yr 5 months.. Hopefully S2 will get the upgrade to Android 4.0 quick here in Singapore!! I LOVE SAMSUNG!!!

Nice additions and streamlined/unified method for controlling everything. Even though 65% of the features were already in Android, it's nice that they brought it all together in a cohesive fashion.

I mean I still understood how to use Android, but now it should at least be easier for others to feel what it means to be a power user.

@aSpicyTacoIndeed He took the pics without focusing them because he was just taking them back to back. Obviously if you want, you can take 2 seconds to focus and then take your picture quickly, then be ready for the next one.

@jeffk6 Megapixels have now importance to image quality. In general it has even a reverse effect : more megapixels meens less image quality and more noise. Megapixels only important for you if you would like to print the large images say A3 format or more. 5Megapixels is enough to print A4 format image.

@khoapho The Nexus is actually a relatively smaller phone than you think. The size would be closer to the SII than anything else really. This is due to the thin bezel and the on screen controls taking part of the screen size.

@LionheartCloud Numbers don't mean much actually. Consumers are to put it blatantly, "stupid", in the sense that they go for a brand and usually don't really care for specs. That's why the iPhone is so successful. Other than being the first revolutionary smartphone, its simplicity attracts users. The portion of consumers that are "geeks" is relatively small.

I can't wait for this phone to reach Singapore so that I can play with it at the store. Would definitely buy it if I can afford!

@Lius525 It's hardly a problem today anyways. We don't have GPU intensive games on mobile yet and it'll be a while before we do. A dual core processor and a moderate GPU should suffice for even a N64 emulator. Most popular games on the market are 2D games anyways. (ex. Tiny Wings, Cut the Rope, Doodle Jump, Angry Birds)

@MessengerThe1 Personally I'm glad my phone didn't get bigger with the software buttons. They were getting alittle too big. The thing that really is the deciding factor for me was the HD screen as you mentioned and LTE. Since I've been stuck with Verizon, a pure Google phone has always been a want. I'm not too concerned about the processor since TIOMAP4460 is actually natively 1.5ghz which will be easy to overclock. Also Samsung without Google is notorious for not updating in reasonable time..
