This is some good information. I always thought the fire duration bonus was due to being indoors or outdoors, and your fire skill. I didn't know it was linked to the temperature.

OMG walking that moose back with the campfire chain had me in stitches! This was extremely helpful.

Very important fact you said that this campfire - wildlife mechanic works since zone of contamination update because before that moose, bears and aurora wolves were not afraid from campfires and still charge at you.

Campfire training a moose is such a goofy thing.

The wind/gust strength and embers info are fantastic, thanks Bash!

Ah, that's why you can stick feed an exposed fire on the ice in Coastal Highway most of the time, but not in Hushed River Valley, once the wind picks up. Now I know why. Thx Bash.

2:30 at this point just light a fire inside(which is fully windproof by design)
The moose trick is actually very useful. Ty, great video.

#5 @ 3:50 Is what I'm using right now, getting stranded in an Ash Valley transitional cave for the night due to the blizzard outside. The warmth from a torch is just enough to stay above freezing there, given that I just spawned into the region and have almost nothing.

another trick, you can use a fire to preserve meat raw or cooked but you can place it on a cooking slot only if its raw. It decay slower than the meat on the ground.
I figure it out in my last loper longrun when i was returning to hunt a bear again after the 50 day respawn time i found cooked bear meat on fire above 0% and all other was ruined so i believe it decay 50% slower and probably it works with all meat type

This is great; I've been playing interloper for years and I only knew exactly half of these. Although I admit I'm afraid to try the aurora one, as one day I might find that it has been changed yet again. Basic mechanics like that which can end your run or not, really need to be solidified and left alone.

Wow, so many things about fire I didn't know! Thanks, Bashrobe. Appreciate you.

If the fire starting skill is 5 and you can get 100% the loading screen of starting the fire prevents animals attacking you. Many a moose and bear have had to wait their turn to get shot point blank.

The embers duration for existing fires explains the couple times I accidentally burned down to embers and I tried to add wood but the fire burned out. Once in a stove and once in a relit campfire. Thanks!

My first run I did interloper I survive three days now that I look back at it I'm kind of proud I new nothing about it and even if my average interloper run is about 60 days but still all those years of the forest helped.
