Fun energy fact for UK and French residents: Energy bills have risen 54% this spring, whilst in France it has only risen 4% this spring. Billions in profits go to private energy companies in Britain whilst all profits go back to EDF in France, which is publicly owned by the French people, the profits go back to the people which in turn help them keep bills lower. In 2020 alone EDF made £106mil in profit from the UK alone. Essentially, if you're with EDF, you've been paying your bills to the French government. What a time to be alive!
