Archive 2020 Movie Ending Explained (SPOILERS)

Archive is probably my favorite Sci-Fi movie of the year -- all because of the twist ending. In this video, I will give you the Archive movie ending explained -- but also my review. Yes, this movie can be a bit slow and predictable in the middle -- but the ending is a payoff that makes it more than worth a watch!

I think what nobody has mentioned is the real impact of the twist ending hitting everyone so strong is the fact that he heard his young child say goodbye to him in a very sad voice. Nobody would ever imagine that they would have to say goodbye to their child like that. That's the worst part of the twist. As a father, that would be a horrible way to go.

I was really sad when J2 died, and I was really angry when He took her legs, He can create another one, movie touching many aspects like feeling, grave, sad, and true love

That scene with J2 commiting suicide hit me deep. I left 2 tears for this AI. It's a great movie ngl.

Just the fact that J3 tells him not to answer the phone makes it much more interesting🤔
As if everything would end if he answers the phone..

What's was very interesting to me is the fact that his wife had a conversation with the AI on the phone in his consciousness. Mind blowing. I also agree with one of the comments here that archive used him to design an AI. I think that archives visit to "inspect" his wife's archive was them taking data from him. I also think at the end the facility doors that was getting locked down and him sabotaging the bridge was his sub subconscious protecting itself and locking itself down from the intrusion of archive trying to steal the data that he had been hiding from them which is j3.

As a father the ending had me in tears when the child says I love you daddy and he realizes what is happening 💔 😢

Just watched it on Netflix. Yeh, didn’t see that ending coming. My jaw literally dropped.

I was gonna stopped the movie mid through cause it did start off pretty slow, but I thugged it out and I gotta say that was one of the best endings I seen in a movie in a long time.

Even though I really liked the movie, the ending made me LOVE IT!!!! Totally unexpected (at least for me). Before George answered the phone, I thought J3 had somehow tricked him, and the upload never took place and that it was his deceased wife calling for one last time (as she is still in there, since the upload did not work)

The film is a Masterpiece and the Score matches the atmosphere and evokes emotion throughout the film.
And that ending hits you right in the heart hard.
This is a great example of Sci-Fi done properly in similar tones as other great films like Upgrade & Ex Machina.
Brilliant film.

They both survive the crash. Evilcorp sets them up with separate lives based on a lie. The archive machine is actually a fully functioning teleconferencer, modified to look janky so they believe the archive story. Evilcorp knows exactly what is happening onsite the whole time and creates artificial urgency to exploit his brilliant skills. J1 & J2 plug into chargers each night. Evilcorp downloads their footage and gives them fresh commands to keep him focused on finishing J3.

I understood the movie and the ending just fine. I just think it didn't make any sense.

In my opinion, they were both alive, but the company used him, and lied to him that the wife is dead, just for him to build a version AI of his beloved wife. So after he finished the invention, he then new she was alive and that they have a baby that where 3 years old there. I don't believe in the version that he was dead...
