Sony Xperia Z vs ZL the Differences

Sony Xperia Z and ZL are high end android devices by Sony which comes with a 1.5 Ghz Quad Core processor sports a 5 inch full HD 1080p display but there are some differences between the Z and ZL and I show you the same in this video, for example the ZL had IR blaster so can be used as a universal remote on the other hand the Xperia Z is a water resistant.

I initially liked the Z way more but the ZL is growing on me. It's more compact in terms of overall dimensions not width of course. I love the sleek notification light too. The open ports are super convenient for me too, I have the Xperia S and have to open the flap for charging and it gets really old. Plus, the Z will not work on LTE and the ZL will. The only things I like about the Z is the waterproofing and the beautiful back side. Small pirce to pay. Getting a wallet cover anyway. ZL for me.

Hey ranjit, u forgot to mention that the zl also has a hardware shutter key for the camera while the z doesn't.

i have seen both the phones side by side and have been able to compare them too, these are a few things which Ranjit missed in the comparison.
1) The ringtone on the ZL is really loud and not shrill as on Z.
2) The screen on the ZL seems to have more contrast than that of the Z and it looks much much better.
3) The rubberised back on the ZL gives it a robust feel and you have a lot of confidence while holding the phone, with Z you need to be careful.
4) Red color on ZL looks really awesome... ;)

I just got my xperia z last week from Sony and I love everything about it. I just have a question; is it normal to have a slight yellowish tint at the bottome of the screen?

Ranjit which one do you recommend ? does the waterproof really become handy, because when i buy a new high -end phone i take care of them anyway not to mention i put the phone in a new case.

Hi Ranjit, I've got the Xperia Z and after the new firmware update "10.1.A.1.253"the colors are a lot more vibrant, saturated and now the soft keys and the bars are "Black" instead of "Gray" in the previous firmware "434". My question is did the Xperia ZL received the same update?
