UNBEATABLE Blue Ranger Build In Outward Definitive Edition

This is the BEST tank build in Outward. It doesn't need any crazy tools like totems or specific enchants. Instead, it matches up three skill trees, armor, and a single potion to make for complete immunity to all elements. And because of runic protection, our physical defense is high enough to block most physical attacks. Several bosses can just sit there and hit you all day while you have full health. It hardly ever drops at all, and it's honestly hard to believe. This is the Blue Ranger Build, and enjoy one of the easiest ways to beat Outward.

Outward is an RPG/survival game that allows you take to make an almost infinite number of builds. Melee, magic, archery, and even traps are scattered across this harsh world in the form of skills. You must have a large amount of money to purchase these skills, but luckily the monsters drop extremely valuable items. The game has been harshly criticized for its realistic and challenging nature. Feel free to subscribe and watch me beat the crap out of some crazy monsters.

HAHA! This faction also comes with blood infuse if you build up Caldera. With that, you will literally be unkillable in this build.

Guess I'm replaying the game and making this build! Thank you for the guide!

This was MY build! It carried me through my first playthough of the game. The only thing I did different was I swapped out Brand and the Lantern of Souls for Starchild Claymore for the reach and stagger and a truckload of Greater Healing potions as my resistances were around 80-90% rather than 100%. Love me some tanky builds!

I honestly love seeing builds that dont need totems and enchants, thanks sheen!

This build except you legacy chest Gep's Blade enchanted with Molepig Sigh, Copal armor enchanted with Spirit of Berg and the Lantern of Souls, join the Holy Mission and use Flamethrower.

For anyone skeptical, all Elemental Resistances stay the same because Green Copal Armor = +30% Ethereal resitance compared to Blue Sand but -20% Decay resistance compared to Blue Sand. That being said, Gep's Blade = -30% Ethereal Resistance, and Holy Mission = +20% Decay Resistance.

Your damage also gets much higher since you can still inflict Haunted instead of Chill, using flamethrower instead of sword swings, and can still inflict Pain using Puncture instead of Puncture or sword swings. Gep's Blade also does 2 additional damage in both Elemental and Physical damage and has a faster attack speed (1.2 instead of 1.0) compared to Brand. On top of that, you also get the +25% Ethereal damage from Spirit of Berg, making this iteration of the build deal more damage. Oh and Molepig Sigh too.

If you can spare the time/ressources and don't mind not having an all blue armor and a blue weapon, use legacy chests for this build, it will make it funner and better.

(EDIT: I also forgot to mention that this is probably the most uber-optimized, min-maxed way to use the Lantern of Souls. I know you said you were trying to make a build where it's good/usable, well I kinda just pushed that to the max here. lmao) Don't forget to grab the Weapons Master to get the Technique in New Sirocco too, that way I guess we could call this the BOOM Ranger build!

So.... I made 2 builds with alternative armor pieces and skill trees.

First - fighter. Green copal armor, Crimson boots and candle helmet.
Soul lantern and Brand. Instead of Rune sage, I took Philosopher, which provides manaregen and fire affinity.
Took holy mission for its super strong passives including Purifier. This build doesn't use runic protection. Has 70 physical and 95 decay resistances and immune to the rest of things.

Second - mage. In this build I swap candle helmet for gold lich mask, took Rune sage instead of Philosopher. And throw away lantern, keeping light mender lexicon. Instead of brand took jade scimitar or mace. Everything else is same as Fighter build.
It gives me 84 physical and 95 decay resistance with immunity to the rest and huge reduction to mana cost.
And in both builds you don't have to swap your offhand, lol

This is one of the strongest builds I’ve seen! You’re borderline unkillable until the armor breaks or buffs wear off

This is my new favorite build, for sure. I love juggernaut builds like this.

I did my invincible build with the same breakthrough points. I used:
-Goldlich helmet(aegis) for fire & lightning immunity
-Green copal armor(spirit of berg) for ethereal immunity
-Legacy chested crimson plate boots(flux) for frost immunity
-Joined Holy mission for purified and weather tolerance for decay defence.
used Starchild(main) and great runic blade(secondary) as weapons.
Very powerful build that had great mana and stamina cost reduction. Looked pretty goofy though. 😅😁

3 months late I know but another use for the Lantern of Souls here is the infinite durability for Flamethrower, which inflicts Eth damage + Haunted, which means you literally only need the Runic Sword to make decent damage. Great build still Sheen! Been on a roll watching these for my next build I'm planning for my next playthough after a while haha

If you want to use legacy chests, you can get 30% resistance to all elements with the Gold-lich Mask, Wolf Plate Armour and Crimson Plate boots, and take Holy Mission (which will also give you protection, barrier, mana and stamina reduction, infuse light . . .) Personally I prefer the Green Copal armour because it has no downsides though it's slightly less tough. But you won't be as Blue.
Although the advantage of being able to do this with a single playthrough is understated.

This is awesome. I picked up the game last weekend and discovered your channel a few days ago. After trying a hex mage I saw your mini builds and tried out the Hunter and Heavy Hitter. I found this video yesterday and decided to swap the mace for a sword and train the Heavy Hitter into this build.

I have yet to finish getting the hermit and monk skills (need more silver lol), the lantern and brand - I'm using a shield with the spellblade attack and have a horror sword for now - but even lacking 20 resists it feels so tough compared to my squishy mage.

Now I need to figure out what build I will do with the Hunter!

Excellent build, love your content! Absolutely making this build on my second playthrough.

Being a blue ranger for the blue collective makes me feel like being a ranger for the NCR. And NCR rangers are honestly just as busted as this build.

I modified this build just a bit during my playthrough. Brand is exceptional and carried me through every fight, but I want to go full padded sumo wrestler, so now I'm trying to get my hands on a kazite blade. The Weaken debuff causes enemies to lose 40% impact and physical, which makes their attacks hilariously ineffective. Sure I deal hardly any damage, but good luck getting past 17 prot and 80% phys resist with only 60% of your whacking power

Sooo... lantern can be transfered, so your character can go with Holly mission, taking all pasives from there)
But...then... as blue chamber members, you can blood infuse. Which.... makes you weaken enemy's dmg and heal in battle 😁

I was thinking this Build for a While but I never Imagined it would be this Tanky.

I don't need to test it now I know it's Tanky now.

If Someone out there wants they could go for Dusk Backpack for Extra Defense.
