The Cubs are now just 2 games behind the Reds and 2.5 behind the Brewers as they took three of the four games against the Reds. #JamesonTaillon had another good start as he allowed just 2 runs. And the bullpen was outstanding in relief of Taillon. #MarkLeiter Jr went an inning and two-thirds and gave up no hits while striking out 4. #JulianMerryweather gave up a solo home run but also struck out 3. And #AdbertAlzolay came in and got the last 4 outs while striking out 2 and gave up 0 hits.

And although the offense didn't explode like the last two nights, #Kap really liked how they kept adding on throughout the game. The #Reds scored a run in the first but the #Cubs immediately tied it in their half of the inning. And then in the third they scored 3 runs with a dropped third strike and a series of walks. And then late in the game Yan Gomes was able to add on an insurance run.

Now a real test comes to town as the Braves roll in for three games over the weekend. Can the Cubs stay hot?
