Used coffee grounds are only slightly acidic (6.5 to 6.8). If you are concerned about that low level of acidity, then let them sit in a container for a couple of weeks before adding to your potting mix.

Thanks, that was super informative! You could add in that the more you rinse the grounds the less acidic they will be too, which will increase their positive impact!

One thing you can do is mix the coffee grounds with tea grounds. That will give you more Nitrous and then mix it with distilled water at 1:64 ratio. Let it sit for 6-8 days then drain the water and add 4 cups of tap water. Then put some dry leaves in a blender and sprinkle it into the DIY mulch. Add to topsoil. This is the formula. 🎋

I mix my little bit of used (1 cup of coffee worth) grounds in about a half gallon of water, and stir it well. Then I use it like that. It's diluted, so won't over-acidify the soil. I have been surprised to see the new vigor in my plants since I started doing this about four days ago. I dump it over the whole plant. The leaves have turned greener, and the whole plant has perked up with the roses, a tomato plant, two little lilac bushes, and a couple of others. I think moderation is the key here. I am watching some small trees I have for results, also. This is best used every three weeks or so, so as not to over-stimulate or acidify them. Just like a weak fertilizer, because that is what it is.

Good reminder about the fungus gnats. But overall then, it seems that we shouldn't use coffee grounds directly into a pot, though it depends on how big that pot is also.

Do you have any videos on how to stop my plants from rotting? No matter how little I water between watering times they seem to grow mold from the inside

This is useful. I have a pachira that is on the brink and I’m looking for some soil alternatives for nutrients.

I put a top layer of coffee grounds on my indoor houseplant's soil. After a few days, I noticed that there is some white mold growing on it. Is this normal and is it safe for people?

It tends to mold so i don’t like using them on houseplants, would just throw them into the compost bin.
