I take a stroll around San Antonio, catching up with local business owners about their expectations for the summer 2024 season. One thing's for sure: the island is changing. But is it for better or worse? I’d love to hear your thoughts—let me know in the comments below!

During my walk, I visit some popular spots like Cebo, Mundo Street Food, and Melbourne Street Coffee. I also chat with folks from the boat charter scene and swing by a few sunset restaurants to get their take on what’s ahead for Ibiza.

It's mad to see how much it's changed since we used to go for 2 weeks (at least) every year. It's become more like a weekend thing by the looks of it. The island is still amazing but I think they have made it more like a city break destination now. Glad I had the best of the late 90's early 2000's there.

Thank you Dwayne for this video. I think it's very good that you're addressing this topic. In my opinion the last guy was so spot on!
My personal impression is: Every year there are more guests, but they stay for shorter and shorter periods of time and have to spend their money very selectively due to the obscenely high prices. At least that probably applies to people who could be described as normal middle class. And I think that more and more of this important and likeable target group, as we saw last year, are here for the last time and will be taking a break from Ibiza. In addition, the price-performance ratio is often out of proportion. Many feel ripped off and there are, after all, alternatives in Europe. For many local businesses this means an uphill battle. These include also Ibizencos, smaller family businesses and traditional restaurants with a long history and fair pricing policy. I fear that Ibiza is developing into a kind of quasi-monopolistic Disney Land TicToc event spot. Ibiza is currently being squeezed like a lemon. But shit, I like this island. Cheers and thank you for your work!

Spent 5 nights in Ibiza last week & thought ibiza was def quieter than normal. Went to Hi to see Eric prydz, was amazed how quiet it was as could freely walk around the club even freely walk around wild corner Couldn’t do that for his night when I went the same time last year.

Excellent vlog Dwayne, probably one of your best ever. Appreciate the honesty of most of those interviewed who weren't just trying to sell their establishment and just gave you an honest and frank opinion.

I was there last week of August and the prices for eating out in good quality eateries were no worse than the UK. In particular was glad to see David's is still going and went there twice. Great value there.

Third year in a row this year and it felt like a ghost town at times compared to other years. My hotel was £1450 for 6 days in a 3 star hotel and my flights cost me just shy of £700. I spent £1400 in spends and that wasnt even going too crazy either. Expensive week but you cant put a price on the memories Ibiza gives you

Superb upload! I'd love an insight into the cost of living - how much is required per month to live on the island at the minute?

Just returned from my first week in Ibiza. We are in our mid 50's but had the most amazing time and managed to take in some clubs along with quieter nights in bars in the bay where we stayed. We stayed for a week and although some nights were busy (beach festival was rammed) it was generally quieter than i expected. We budgeted to spend 2 grand and even though we had a table at Mambo for a night and a VIP upgrades for both Eden and Ibiza Rocks, we came back with a few hundred quid as many of the prices in the bars were not overly expensive and ive paid similar prices for drinks in Tenerife recently. Already booked to come back in 2025, theres still stuff id like to experience :)

Went there twice this year and you touch in this video the main problem: accomodation+travel increasing prices, then the most touristic places to eat, eat you alive, no value at all for the prices charged. Really glad there are people that point you in the right direction. There plenty of good value for money around the island, sadly thats not in the commercial areas...

Julian understands the trends and made much sense with his contribution on this video. Good analysis i thought.

Was this year for 6 days, from 3th to 9th of September, normal nice flat coast me 600Eur for 6 nights ( I think one of the best price I found on the bookings, and I think its the new one). Flights coast me around 250Eur, traveled from Lithuania 4 flights. Visited Pacha for Music On, really really overcrowded night it was, too much people, for 2 bottles of water they charged me 28 Euros, crazy!! And the entrance to the club was 100Eur ticketc was purchased via pacha web. In the restourants normal prices like in other EU countrys. This is my 5th time on the island. 2014 was the first one, its changed, was much more people back than and the prices was much lower, but with all the inflation we have its normal. Also not mentioned was in Tantra club (Playa den bosa), was alot of Fun and my friend played my unreleased music on the terrace, was amazing to hear it here in Ibiza for sure 😊🎉

Hi Dwayne, Which barber do you recommend on the island? I purchased your Ibiza guide, it is very good.

My first visit was1999 and every summer for about 15 years after that, a week or 2 weeks always. But like everything time and family time catches up but as you walk around it brings back such great memories. The westend was there the nights you were not clubbing and with 2 weeks you could pick your nights for clubs. The island seems to have lost its magic and for those who want to go its going to cost a packet. Its turning into a monster that takes your money weather it be day or night and its just going to cost you a lot. It was always costly but you could get a cheep hotel and cheep bars and balance out your two weeks. I still miss the place, but would it be the same and grateful for the years I had there.
Thanks for the video's you keep my memories

Thank you Wayne! This is my favorite kind of videos.
I miss my favorite Island and favorite place on this planet.
Unbelievable that it's now 17 years since my last time on the Island. But now with family and 3 children it's nearly Impossible to come Back.
Fingers crossed to make it possible soon
