When it comes to writing your own songs, the chorus is an awesome place to start. It's the great sum up of your song and informs all the other parts like verses, pre-choruses and bridges. Spending your time writing a good chorus is also the greatest bang for your buck, lyrically. Since a chorus is often repeated 3-4 times throughout a song, those same lyrics are also typically on repeat 3-4 times. That means by locking down a good chorus, you've already got at least 50% of your song mapped out!

I think that's right. The chorus tells the story in a few words, without details. The verses usually have more detail.

The main story of a song is told in the verse, though it's not necessarily the most important songwriting element. In a pop song , you'll typically find two verses sandwiched in between two choruses, or a verse chorus bridge-like progression. Use different verses to tell the main story of your song.

The verse has more story details but the chorus has a very short abstract version of the story and also has very less details of the story and also the chorus tells gives you the story in a few words without details while verse does has details of the story true?
