I Dared a Non-Diabetic to Wear a CGM. Here's What Happened...
How does a non-diabetic get a 4.4% A1c? I put a Libre 14-Day CGM on my friend to see what's really happening in her blood sugar. Curious about my diabetes diet including PIZZA?

Can non-diabetics learn about their blood sugars from using a continuous glucose monitor like a Libre or Dexcom? I dared my best friend to wear a CGM for two weeks and we learned a lot about her blood sugar levels.

That was fun. As a type 1 it is nice to see someone attempt to explain the challenges we face every day. Thank you.

That is because Tara has probably eaten in moderation for most/all of her life. A T2 diabetic if they have any hope of all in reversing diabetes has to be much more careful. And in the end will most likely never approach their youthful pre-diabetic state. You will always have to watch what you eat. Good channels to watch are Jason Fung (MD), ken Berry (MD), Adapt Your Life (Dr. Eric Westman), Dr. Sten Ekberg, & Beat Diabetes.

That was a great video! I often wonder what normal CGM readings really look like

Thanks for making it light for a change! It is a lot of work! I am just happy I am not one to give up and DO WHAT IT TAKES to be HEALTHY 👍

I wish we could all get hold of these monitors at some reasonable cost. This was really helpful to those of us in the “insulin resistant” range. It showed me that my blood sugar was beginning to vary in a bad way.

This was a great video concept! I don’t have diabetes but my mom whose almost 80 was recently told she was borderline pre diabetic so commence my searching for what’s that really like and what symptoms she may be experiencing.I appreciate you guys giving an idea of how different the body of diabetics work processing foods we non diabetics take for granted. Will certainly refer your content to my mom.

Three cheers for TARA!!! I loved this video. Ginger, your channel is the best. And you've obviously got great friends. Thanks so much for this one -- both of you.

The low readings are ok if you’re not diabetic. In fact even when diabetic as long as you don’t feel bad when it’s a low number, it’s totally fine.

as A type 2 I rarely go over 125 on my meter. Its because i avoid sugars and carbs. I was even able to quit insulin and meds. My A1c is down to 4.9.

I'm begging to think the gut biom is different in people, is why some have higher blood sugars. I was like your friend but then took something that killed off some bacteria in my gut and have never got back to the way I was.

Was in nursing school when I was in my mid thirties and before lunch we were checking bg to see what it looked like for different people. Mine was 50. Didn’t feel anything but hungry and another person had a 50 also no problems. Had the instructors asking us how we were feeling! I said this is normal for me. My blood pressures when I was in my 20s was always in the 90s/60s. Had a student nurse take my blood pressure 3 times. He asked me if I had anything to eat that morning and I said 2 big bowls of cereal and I ask why? He said my bp was low. I asked him what it was and I said that’s normal for me. Now it runs 110-120/70-80 and I’m in my early 60s.

Love how surprised you are about her not having to do anything 😮 She’s not a diabetic so of course her blood sugar is gonna be in range and stay low.

But, Try the real test. Have Tara stimulate the body with sugar. Eat a big piece of cake, eat a sugar filled donut, a huge bowl of ice cream. The average person can digest and break down normal foods....very easily.
