Creating a job for yourself is a good start if no present job perspectives are available right now, because there’s Always room for improvement!! Just start by taking a look around your community and see where there’s a social need. Jot down those possibilities then work on the one that closely relate to your skills and interest. Maybe team up with a couple of former schoolmates and start up a corporation; having help to share the load! Make sure not to choose a lazy person with no drive; they will only hold you back! The next step is yours!! The skies the limits! Good luck young man!! 👍🏾🙏🏾💪🏾

The problem with us Gambians, we know the insurmountable problems we face on a daily basis. Our dilemma as a whole nation, we don't get down with the solutions to resolve our problems but instead we waiting for a miracle 🙏 from Heaven to fall on our laps.. An average Gambians will spend their whole savings and livelihood on a single day naming ceremony and a whole week on a wedding ceremony and woke up mad the next day and complain how hard life is in the Gambia because prices went up on everything and now they can't barely feed their families..Allah help those who help themselves. Non Gambians comes and see the infinite possibilities in the Gambia and jump on the opportunities and create something for themselves and yet Gambians failed to see the blessings bestowed upon us and will chose to complain and point fingers at the wrong direction. There are infinite possibilities of opportunities to be created in the Gambia but because we lack visions and very seldom think outside the box, , we will always be a nation of the blind leading the blind and thus the cycle repeats it self to the next generation and becomes a generational curse instead of generational wealth.
My advice to the graduate students, don't wait for someone to give you a cubicle office to stroke your EGO by giving you a little bit of dignity, instead create for yourself a company with many offices and beyond and offer each other opportunities.. A true financial freedom is based on..ASKED NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU BUT ASKED WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR OWN BUSINESS COMPANY TO CREATE JOBS.

Maybe students at University need to do work placements as part of their course. That way they are learning theory and practical at the same time.

Some of the things you can study: GENDER STUDIES, HISTORY, ISLAMIC STUDIES, POLITICAL SCIENCE, PSYCHOLOGY, SOCIOLOGY… and then you hope that someone will give you a job??? These diploma’s tell all about the holder: completely off this world, disconnected from reality, lost in space…

Not all cuz some already have job but need the degree…
And the government can’t employ all but they can create environment for investors to invest in the country.. all developing countries 90% of employment are form the private sectors.

In the Gambia 70 percent of the youths support the government, accept the system so i see no point in crying. Education is not about memoriseing books but to be creative i have a friend he have P.H.D in Agriculture but you know what he have no idea how to grow peanuts u see the point. Sorry to say that but Educated Gambians can never make difference for them its all abouth reading and memoriseing books books and work in the office SIR
