I had a very nice experience just having nginx within a Docker container and letting docker-compose expose only its container to the internet. And letting it do the TLS termination and reverse proxy into the rest of my containers.

You can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that Nginx surpassed Apache a few years ago. Apache is still a strong number 2. But your claim that Apache is much more popular as if Nginx's usage rate is no where close to Apache might be a little wrong.

I have cloudflare as well so that adds another layer since they'd have to get past cloudflare before they even hit my nginx
