I found this video VERY refreshing! Perhaps it was confirmation bias, but perhaps it just restarted some priceless wisdom I've learned in my own life. Allow me to share that wisdom with any man younger than say.... 45 years old. Perhaps the most wonderful, liberating and welcome epiphanies you can have is the day you set your ego aside and stop giving a flying EFF what anyone else thinks!! This applies to cars, motorcycles, your job, your woman, how you dress, etc, etc. I'm not telling you to be a lazy slob here. I'm telling you to do what really fells right TO YOU!! For three DECADES I was certain that no "REAL" man (whatever that was/meant) would drive a Mazda Miata. Then I drove my son in-law's and it was such a riot I bought my own a year later! As he has been telling me for years "It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on!!" Ditto dual sport bikes. STOP GIVING A RIP about what anyone else thinks! Buy one, go out and ride EVERYWHERE and enjoy life!! We're only on this rock once. Enjoy it while you can!

Sold my Sportster last year and bought a CRF450L. When I was young I drove a Yamaha DT50, DT80. After that only street bikes. I realized I missed that Enduro feeling. So back to the roots, Love the nature, go straight ahead, better no roads 😉.

Don't know where you are but every time I take my dual sport out I constantly get compliments and smiles, when I take ultra limited people do like it but it's not like the dual sport, dual sports are not as common to see on the road and personally I think that appeals to people they see a bike that can be fun and not something that just goes down the street, yes some people do take street bikes off road but stooped is what stooped does lol

Dual sport bikes (aka to us oldies as trail bikes) are just outright versatile fun. Fun is cool enough for me any day.

Good honest video and the jokes were right on point. I'm one of those guys who like to ride all types of motorcycles. A person should own at least two bikes, one for road and one for dual or offroad purposes. As for the unicorns, they're just overrated. In my experience I've never seen a woman that had true interest in me refuse a ride on dirtbike. So buy that that you've always wanted and enjoy life ;) :)

I have a VTX 1800 that I like driving through the north Georgia mountain highways but am thinking of getting a dual sport for the forestry roads. Just dirt roads for me. I hate mud. I mean hate it. And I'm an auto mechanic covered in oil a lot of the day. LOL
Thanks for the video.

This video is so funny and truthful. The hardest part of riding my Husqy 701 SM is getting on the bike because I have to look at it. But once I'm on the bike I just imagine myself riding a Harley :)

I don't care about being cool looking cool or what other people think I just want to be able to get where I want to go off-road on-road off-trail and a dual-sport is perfect for me I love going for a ride on the road and being able to make my own trail go my own path its the best that's freedom form me my get away.

Dirtbikes are the most capable offroad vehicles in the world, dual sport bikes like the honda 300l and the honda 450rl are the perfect ultimate fun vehicle and those BMW gs 1200 and big dual sport motorcycles like that are great for riding accross the country and very light offroad situation. I owned a yamaha r6 and is the most dangerous vehicle for obvious reasons and its uncomfortable as hell, but you look cool AF

Don't have a dual sport, but I've always thought they were sexier than your average Harley or crotch rocket. So basic! IMO, dual sport is the way to go! Picking my first one up soon.

I’m not buying it to be cool, but to use it as a motorcycle to get around town and when I feel the need to just hop off the road on to a dirt trail.

I loved my DR 650! That thing could go anywhere! It is the bike that got me back into my motorcycle addiction.... I was proud to show that thing off.

13:50 I don't need to get laid, cuz I'm married and getting laid by some strange could get very sad and very expensive. Just another way my dual sport is looking out for me it seems.

I live in Colorado and an amazing thing happened while riding my trusty Rottweiler tuned Husky 701 Enduro with a barky Yosh can on a 4x4 route which featured a big slab of granite. The 4x4 guys were cool and waved me up, as one of them had just finished his ascent and it was clear. They had winch points and spotters along the route.

Being an experienced dirt biker who rides a 300 XC for "real" off roading and with an audience (always a dangerous combo) I rode a fat brappy wheelie up that granite face capped off with a nice old skool cross up at the top. A good running 693cc thumper can rip a wheelie quite handily, especially when given loads of perfect uphill granite face based traction.

I'm 61 and the 20 something girl at the top of the face shouted at me, that was so "F'ing cool! What kind of bike is that?" Fortunately because I was covered by my gear and helmet, she didn't know I'm old enough to be her Dad and then some. For a brief shining moment I was actually cool on my dual sport in a pretty young girl's eyes, and I'd be lying if I didn't admit that was a huge ego stoke 😆

To understand a dual sport is to ride a dual sport. Best thing to do is to find someone and introduce them to dual sports.

Btw xr's and xl's are pretty cool classic bikes, have seen a few in museums. Haha.

I would say a Honda XR650R with a dual sport kit is beautiful. And I'm not saying that just because I own one ;)
