I’m very happy to see the back and forth between cpu manufacturers

Good to see that intel is finally coming back around to offer competitive products @ enticing price points.
The only sad part is economy has gone down to literal hell and my purchasing power ain't what it used to be.

I’m good with my 5900x for now, I really wouldn’t want to try and cool the 7900x or the 13th gen at this stage. I’ll choose to wait and see how AM5 unfolds with its next gen chips

I purchased the Ryzen 9 7900X on the day it released, and coming from an i7 8700, I'm blown away. I'm in love with this build. I purchased it partially because I love an underdog story and I love what AMD's doing right now, partially because I just needed a big upgrade, and also because it's not Intel lmao however, seeing Intel come back like this is nothing but exciting, because this heavy of competition is only going to be good for the consumers. Super competitive prices while trying to beat the other team's performance? Yes please! Now we just have to hope the GPU market livens up soon!

Looking forward to the 13100F! Also looking forward to the 12100F costing 75$.

Hopefully we can have a similar dynamic in the GPU market. Those price hikes are ridiculous.

I tend to prefer intel personally but at one point in time it was just more stable and consistent and it has always treated me well so I stick with it. I am glad to see the competition between the two and the gains we as consumers get to see in performance.

Blow for blow between manufacturers. Beautiful! Huge W for consumers! VERY happy to see it.

X3D Vcache fan here and happy 5800X3D owner.

Also in general because it's not intel, but that wouldn't stop me if we were to have another FX series from AMD.

Interesting to note, Microcenter had a special recently (may still be going on, idk) where they were bundling 32GB of DDR5 with the Ryzen 7 and 9 7000 series cpus. If you factor the savings on ram in, the 7950x is technically cheaper.

The rolls have reversed. If I had to go with a new platform, I would buy an Intel ATM based on cost... but since I have an older AM4 platform, I will be looking for a better CPU for it in the near term. I really like that Intel is stepping up their game. Power draw on the other hand, is another big questionmark.

Currently building a 5800X3D system but if I was building on new CPU I would probably go AMD for the lower power draw and future compatibility potentially with 9000 series CPUs or 7000X3D CPUs

I swapped from Amd to Intel last week. From the 5800x to the 13700k and I couldn’t be happier.

The thing here Jay is that apples are being compared to oranges. The AMD is a brand new socket and it is only at the beginning of its life. The 5800X3D was such an amazing CPU because it was the 4th generation in (1000 series, 2000, 3000 and 5000). The final generation is always the best as they have perfected the chipset and features. This new 7000 series is an investment into the AM5 socket. The latest Intel CPU is just the last of this socket as Intel has already announced that the next Gen will be a new socket as well. AMD is a bit more costly but that will pay dividends later when you upgrade just the CPU. Intel is cheaper but is the last gasp...with a HUGE power draw and insane thermals.

AMD software has always been garbage, it takes way too long for hardware to be stable. Their edge has always been the fact they are cheaper and so you just put up with the problems.
But now Intel is cheaper for the same if not better performance why would you even look at AMD at all? When AMD dropped the 5950x and 6900xt i did my upgrade, I bought them both at midnight launch (before prices of everything went up) and it has taken almost that entire time for them to be stable where i no longer get random resets or crashes. Intel and Nvidia make way better software for their hardware than AMD does, the programming has ALWAYS been AMD's biggest flaw, In saying that... AMD does mature better (which makes sense...) but the headaches along the way.... fkn hell.... Intel is the no-brainer right now, no doubt.

I have been using Intel CPUs since the days before pentiums, and I have watched (and rode) the ebb and flow between the 2 brands. This might be the closest both companies have competed that I can remember. In reality, this only means good things for the consumer.

3:30 but also smaller caches could access the data in the cache faster than a larger cache... But yeah. CPU is crazy hardware.

I went Intel 12900K but plan to go 13900K because I have a Z690 board and DDR4 64GB 3200MHz. So for me working on creativity with Unreal Engine 5 and such makes sense to continue on this platform until I am ready to go DDR5.

100 C (CPUs) in 2022 waov with liquid cooling amazing. Next rotation should be the SUN. Good job guys old omlet and steak baking videos will finally return. More cores, more transistors and more heat and power. What an improvement!

I love watching these knowing I'm still using a 3770k at home. Go for gold boys

Yeah, right now I'd go for Intel indeed if I wanted to build a new system. I'm still happy with my AMD Ryzen 9 5950X though and I'm going to use it for years to come.
