My home, the great NW.  I see Helens and Hood every day, Baker and Adams on non-smoggy days which are fewer and fewer.  Still creeps me out to jet ski in the lakes below Helens, though.  No where was more beautiful than old Spirit Lake!!

For some reason I’m fascinated with this mountain and volcano in 1980 (5 years before I was born). Always wondered a couple things about Mt St Helens. If they could have removed a lot of the ash by trucks. I know it would taken years and wouldn’t get the ash out of everywhere but that forest seems worth saving. I know it’s growing back up in spots but closer to the base of mountain it might grow back desert like with no tree’s because too much ash. Also are those trees in spirit lake not useable? Be better to use tree’s that are already down instead of cutting down a forest somewhere else.
