This is great!
Artists are crucially important for a nation's cultural development.

Japan does this with their Masters of arts and crafts.

Good on you, Ireland!
This will help with national pride (the good kind), tourism, the economy, and worldwide status.

Every country should follow. 😊👌

I hear that they are getting 17k a year. The things I could do as an artist with that. For a lot of jobs people are earning less than that and are working full time.

This is amazing, unfortunately a bunch of unimaginative bank suits will get together and shut it
Artists will continue to starve, or like most art forms, only the top gets paid.

A "Citizen Dividend" - for everyone - would be so much more intelligent.
When you've paid your "Economic Rent" you've paid your taxes.
"If governments would collect their necessary revenue in the form of site rents, resource rents, monopoly rents and licence rents —all of which, by reason of their origin, accrue preferentially to the rich— they would not find it necessary to impose 'progressive' taxes on earned income." – Dr Gavin Putland

This is just SO wrong! These "artists" need to learn the difference between a career and a hobby.
