I just ended up buying a belkin router and setting the super hub to modem mode, not a single issue since, great wifi from it.

What is even more amusing is that the Virgin Superhub is about half a meter away from my mobile phone right now and gives 80% signal whereas my Buffalow repeater is 10 meters away in my bedroom through 2 walls and the signal strength reads as 100%

Good info but why should you have to go out and buy another device. I have an old Buffalow WHR-HP-G54 router with a +12db Antenna set up as a repeater with dd-wrt firmware which can transmit wireless over 800 meters away to my local supermarket with no problems, so WHY is it that my NEW Virgin media SuperHub only works as far as my bathroom less than 5 meters away. These things are total crap.

i was having trouble the virgin bloke wired my room when i change rooms every since august i was having problems i kept on phoning virgin there said change the frequcys to the rmodem finally i got a super hub 3 and the signal he tested the signal to my hub 2 it was low it went red and found out the other bloke wierd it wrong now i got to wait till my other room get dectorated and i can move in my other bedroom any advice

Am with sky moving to Virgin mate, there wifi booster is shit and it was not free they wanted me today I ended up buying one on gumtree.

It's because the routers given from virgin media are cheap and shit

guys you do realise you can put your hub into modem mode and wire up your own router to it?? get a shit hot router and connect it up.

Iv had problems with it since they replaced it from the normal hub i get a signal ok plus im on the 100mb supercharged speed! And i the time i need to fucking wait for google to load up is shocking im going way to phone to get them out plus im sitting rite next to the shitty hub 2 and even with eithernet connected its the same fukn waste of money peace of shit! They don't get it fixed they can stick it up there arse!! Not a happy chappy here! Ill go we sky! Lol
