IXL Algebra1 - Z.8 Multiply Two Binomials

So many teachers and students cling to the FOIL acronym, but ultimately you MUST give it up so that you will be able to do the REVERSE operation of multiplying two binomials.

You will need to be able to FACTOR - so your goal in multiplying must be to ELIMINATE writing out the terms and adding them; instead you need to look for and discover patterns and combination techniques so that you can multiply the binomials in your head.

I included my connection between multiplying binomials and the standard two digit multiplication algorithm, which I should have probably saved for a later, more in depth lesson in multiplying larger polynomials.
