note to self: always hit the side of the door before throwing a steel ball at the window of a cybertruck

New lesson learned:
Smash the door first before smashing the window, it makes it easier to ste- i mean open in case of emergency

At least he addressed it, most CEO’s would blame someone and or refuse to answer the question like, our engineers are still running tests …..

he should’ve redeemed himself by trying to break the other window.

That's not why. If you've ever worked with glass you'd know instantly. During blowing or forming if the shape is stressed there are already stress fractures. Even with hard glass. As you repeatedly attack the spot where fractures exist, after 100-200 impacts it will lose durability. I used to blow glass and work in a glass shop. If you know where a window sits in a car, you'd recognize that the bottom of the glass is nowhere near the strike. Usually companies build minimal prototypes so who knows how much trauma that window endured before the demonstration. The way to increase the durability of those windows is to run cross hatched metal wiring for added support and weight distribution.

the window's the least of his problem with how poorly the truck did in the crash tests

If it was actually strong, paramedics would really struggle with getting you out of the car after an accident

I think this is the greatest marketing tactic of all time 😂😂

Definitely wasn't the hours of steel balls hitting the window tho 😂

The window still held up to the steel ball.
Not intact, but functional.
Bulletproof means no bullet passes through, not no damage to the glass.
And even after the sledgehammer had weakened it, it held up as proscribed.
99% success in my book.

😂 the best thing about that window breaking so publicly is that it forces him to solve that problem. Like when the Ironman suit froze in the first movie.

I always thought that it was a marketing gimmick. By doing that, he actually gained x10 exposure.

You can only fix a mistake once you acknowledge it. That’s what I like amour Musk, he doesn’t hide his fk ups, he embraces them and learns from them

There's a reason why most windows arent steel ball proof
