Battery Banks For The Nintendo Switch! My Picks

Picking out a good battery bank can be tough. There are so many different types and brands out there to go through. These are three of my picks for the Nintendo Switch. Any of these should help you get through a long flight or even a week long camping trip.

I would like to hear your thoughts as well on what battery banks are good and which ones you have had experience with, good or bad.

BTW, E3 isn't invitational, you'll have to apply for tickets. Just apply for a press ticket, and they'll send you one. I've been to e3 about 3 times.

That would be awesome if you could buy couple of these when the Switch comes out and let us know which one seems the best for the money.

Keep in mind that there is a restriction on the size of battery bank you can have in your carryon bag. The largest allowed is 100Wh, which is about 27000mAh. The closest bank I've seen to that size is Anker's 26800mAh PowerCore+.

I've got the Powercore 21000+ and can vouch that it is a great battery. It's a little heavy and bulky but that's what you get with such a high capacity battery. One thing to note is that USB-C charging works both ways and I have forgotten this a couple times. If you plug a device into the battery without turning the battery on first, the device will charge the battery, which is usually NOT what you want to do. As long as you press the button first then plug your device in you will be fine! ;)

Super useful video. I've been wanting one of these for my phone for a while. Now that I've preordered a Switch I'm likely going to have that much more of a need for one!

I recently bought the second one (Anker Power Core 20100+) and its great but it is bigger than expectet so check the dimensions before buying. It feels premium and you get a little cloath-like carringbag which is nice to store the two cables.

Quick Charge is a feature exclusive to devices with Qualcomm chips, it allows much faster charging of devices. Quick Charge 3.0 is the current version and is backwards compatible with previous QC versions devices.

You actually need a compatible device for the QC feature to even be active. If you plug a non-QC device into these QC compatible power bank, it'll just charge at the normal charge rate.

Hm, figured the anker powercore+ 20100 would be a nice one to get. Glad to see confirmation on that. However, I didn't know you could still charge a usb-c device from a normal micro usb battery bank. Thanks for these videos dude.
