I’m a professional photographer and believe street photography has allowed me to work with some of the biggest brands in the world.

I’ve consolidated all the thoughts around what makes a great photo, breaking down why I think a photo works and how to create your style.

After analysing, critiquing, and refining these thoughts, I’ve created what I consider the most important, concise, & light-hearted advice that will stay front of mind when you are out shooting.

I promise - This isn’t a cash-grab photo book with a few images slapped together.

This book will be transformative for any photographer that reads it (Okay, maybe not Joel Meyerowitz or Steve McCurry), and I believe it will stand the test of time as it's focused on the fundamentals and not current trends.

If you want to improve your photography, consider buying Street Tools Vol 1. I can guarantee it’ll help you more than purchasing another camera bag.

I don’t think you will regret your decision.

Great hints. Have to write them down for remembering allways. Like this kind of "short tip" a lot.

0:48 image uniqueness sticks out from the rest. It could be an even more impact on B&W.

To me, street photography branches out to few categories:

* Moments: timing is essential, composition - not so much, fast lenses and quick autofocus are preferred for good subject separation and to really focus the viewer on it.

* Sneak-photography: like moments, but sneakier - shoot into reflections, do depth layering with foreground and background objects, use mirrors in your composition, etc etc.

* Architecture: composition is essential, timing - not so much. Standard zooms and superzooms are preferred for being able to quickly change between making "overview" pics and "detail-hunting" pics, but it's important to pick a sharp one with little to none barrel distortion. Tripod or IBIS are huge help at low-light.

* Context: something that is not happening right now, but have just happened - for example an empty cup on cafe table. Clever composition is essential, timing - not so much, but kinda still needed. Fast lenses are preferred but any will do really, as long as you can compose well.

i love how the techniques are used even when recording, like in the final shot the foreground elements are being used.

This was honestly such an informative and helpful video - I've wanted to get into street photography but never really knew if there was a technique for it or where to start - thank you for this!

Excellent framing of the woman in red, or person. Thanks for this video, short precise and the examples are excellent.

The "be closer to your subject that they are from the background" is such a simple tip and yet I never thought of this 😬 but now thanks to you I know, and I'll be looking to apply this on the street!! :)
