Leaving my marketing career at 29 to start from almost zero - I have a graphic design degree. That’s more about happiness than money for me, wish me luck.

Low end for juniors: $55k-$85k

Mid-Senior: $86k to $135k

Lead to director: $140-$200k

This will vary by country and region, state, and above all else your experience/education.

Senior UX designer here in St Louis, MO area in the corporate space. Salaries are $110, 000 - $120, 000, with UX leadership around $150, 000 - $170, 000 range. Facebook pays average $150k to $250k, Google and Microsoft do as well. Also depends on the space you’re designing for, if you’re in technology, finance, healthcare, you’re looking at higher salaries than being in the marketing / advertising space

Do you agree with this UX salary analysis?! 🧐Do you think it's fair for tech companies to pay based on geographical location, or should it solely focus on skill-set?! 🌎

For people from the midwest USA... Kansas City area seems to be about $60, 000+ USD for Jr Designer median salaries and $105, 000+ for Sr Design roles. I have 5 years of experience as a graphic designer and copywriter. I hope to start at around $65k locally and move to a larger market after a few years. Cheers!

I’m a junior-mid level product designer in Canada, making around $50k annually (Canadian dollars). I would say it’s quite hard to get into mid-sized companies here in the west coast since they are either hiring seniors or school interns. Hope there will be more opportunities in the future for junior to mid level designers😂

Btw great video! thanks for sharing! 🤩

I’ve worked all over the US and really wish I had this video a couple years ago. Taxes and Rent are the two things I always underestimated...because those bigger numbers shrink really fast depending on where you end up living. But if you are lucky enough to live where there is no state tax... that can be a 9% to 13% swing in your favor.

I am amazed .. this is the best content I’ve ever seen. I live in Germany as well but in Hannover. I work with digital law and am willing to improve my skills drawing up my contracts considering the UX principles. I actually don’t intend to become a UX Professional, But to apply that in my field. Amazing content guys! I would gladly, perhaps in the future, work with you. Who knows!

Plsss make a video on
"How can we earn money on freelancing website by using ui/ux design skill?"
What kind of job/work available there?

This video is great. This channel motivates me more than ever. Wanted to note that immigrants usually cannot work remotely in US or UK or Canada. We need a work permit. And there are countries like Iran that the banking system does not allow UX designers to collect the money they earn through international banking. :( But hey, I have moved to Canada, if you dream, if you work hard enough, you might just get what you want.

What has me wondering is that with Covid-19, Google's UX design courses on their way of coming out, and digital becoming a global opportunity, the pay for these jobs will go down given the increased supply due to the lower barrier to entry and popularity.

Another inquiry; currently I'm looking for high-income potential skills that can also translate into making your own businesses and products. What are your thoughts on this? Have you seen UX/Product designers finding it easier to turn these skills into side businesses like making their own products?

Since your learning design principles, it would seem like you would be able to use those skills toward of all kinds projects and areas of your life.

Content creation (like Youtube videos) is also another on of those skills that I think currently still has a lot of potential, what are your thougths between either given path?

I believe that the salaries from international employers would be localized. When you hear about these "high" Bay Area salaries, keep in mind that these salaries reflect the cost of living in this particular place.

Thanks for this! I love your channel it really helped me to make the big decision to change Uni courses to Ui/Ux design.

Loved the video, Jonathan! Could you also make a video about the differences between working in a design agency vs working in-house? Are the employers looking for different qualities, would the kind of work we're doing be different, all that jazz.

Love this, thank you for making this video. Could you do something similar regarding UX/UI freelancer rates? The rates and expectations seem to vary wildly and it would be really interesting to get your view on this.
Cheers!
