I consider myself to be very politically nonpartisan and open to rational arguments from any side. I’ve hovered between center-left and center-right over the years and I genuinely only care about the truth and strive to align my views with whatever that may be.

Now that I have the disclaimer out of the way, Jessica Burbank struck me several times during the show as using half baked arguments, moving the goalposts (while clumsily trying to accuse Robby of doing exactly that), and just generally coming across as a progressive apologist clamoring for “gotchas”.

I don’t want an echo chamber. I _want_ there to be arguments and disagreements and a healthy diversity of viewpoints. But this just isn’t nearly as high caliber as I believe it can be. When Jessica’s response to Robby’s insistence that artificial price control necessarily has an effect on supply is essentially “prove it”, then the bar is too low. Maybe The Hill’s goal of artificially inflating healthy debate is resulting in a shortage in the supply of rational arguments. Supply & demand strikes again.

12:30 The phone call between Trump and RFK happened right after the assassination attempt — a long time ago in relation to a campaign season (Biden had not dropped out yet, let’s remember). It is political cynicism to assert that Trump: 1) keeps aware of RFK’s campaign; 2) knew he was thinking about dropping out; and 3) pretended to be surprised when asked about RFK’s options.

I didn’t see the interview, but Trump frequently answers questions off the cuff in the language that he grew up in: business negotiations. For a guy who takes the most amount of questions from the press, I’m surprised when people casually accuse him of being scripted and disingenuous.
