I feel that the Queen visiting the King in the hospital is also a way of somewhat shifting the way they're perceived from, historically, one of glitz and glamour royalty to one of a royal FAMILY (no way to do italics for emphasis). A shift to show more of how, while they are royals, they are still a family

I've lived in the UK for over 40 years in England and Scotland, and I've hardly known anyone in real life who's fervently for the Royals. Forget that embarrassing Princess Diana mourning thing, it was just mass hysteria whipped up by the media. Everyone I know cringes when they think back to that. People are generally indifferent to the Royals, they're just famous people that we have no control over. Internet videos are just echo chambers, any pro Royals people will gravitate to them and their comments will give a very unrepresentative view of the actual popularity they have with the British population. The country will not come to a standstill with shock and grief I can assure you.

It should be enough that people know he is sick. Having cancer. And now needs to rest More... And he, like all cancer patients.. must avoid meeting too many people while he is in treatment.. due to reduced immune system..
