He said "mummy"! That was so adorable! Charles definitely loved his mother. 🥹

He might not have seen much of his parents as a young child, but he was blessed with grandparents who adored him.

I feel sorry thinking how much he missed his mummy when she was thousands of miles away. Prince or not, a child always wants its parents around.

That little Charles tried to reach his mother, miles away, on the telephone, is sad and touching. His narration of these scenes brings out his natural sensitivity. His interest in gardening was formed at an early age.

You can Google & YouTube the royal family to watch old videos of them. People like to say Charles is soft but they don’t understand he was beaten as a school boy just because he was born into the royal family. Charles was very shy & was easy Pickens for the bully’s. He found solace in sports ( although the other kids used him for a punching bag ) , reading & gardening. I think that’s why he’s so calm as he avoids conflict. He knows firsthand how it is to be viewed as different. He at least has a loving family.

That’s really so beautiful - and very generous. He could have been angry or bitter his mom spent so much time away from him. Instead, he knew it wasn’t what she wanted to do exactly, either! His younger son could learn a lot from this magnanimity snd circumspection.

I think we have been too hard on His Majesty the King. I can’t imagine how his childhood affected him. The lifestyle at the time he was born was rather “hands off”. He obviously loves HRH The Queen Consort. He was forced to do a lot of things we common people were not and seemed to have little choice about life decisions. I think he has finally come into his own. I wish him long life. God save the King.

This is absolutely precious. It doesn’t matter who you are. The bond between mother and child is irreplaceable.

God bless King Charles. He never complained and never hated his family. Instead, he feels sorry for her mom Who lost her father and had to become Queen, which she didn't expect so Early.

I am 73.
My parents never took any photographs of my childhood.
No birthdays.
No graduations.
No weddings.
We had school pictures.
Thankfully, our grandfather and other relatives and friends took pictures of our milestones.
