I have never seen a car's intake sound change SO much with a cold air intake, when I installed one on mine the difference was huge. Way bigger then on a civic si, wrx, or any other car I've seen and idrk why

As for the plastic oil pan, one time I ran over a fucking ladder on the freeway and managed to only leave a scratch on the oil pan and a massive gouge in the subframe. I got lucky for sure.

Even though I opted for the DSG I love seeing you row gears like a pro and when hitting your runs!

plastic/nylon pan is corrosion resistant, offers better chemical resistance and won't dent like a steel pan would. plus if you are worried just stick a skid plate on youll be sound

It's criminal that you don't get the full LED taillights in your country.

I don’t have a mk7/7.5 gti but I sure do love my mk6 tdi, full bolt on stage 2 Malone tune besides an intercooler, I know it’s a tdi but it’s got just about 200hp and 350+tq now and it is so much fun, big turbo coming soon, shooting for 300whp 450+tq.
Definitely love the gti tho Jewels, it’s looking good and I love that your out there hanging with the big boys🤝

To disable traction control on 7.5GTI PP
VCDS mod abs brakes->long coding-> byte 29 [09] to [07]

Abs brakes-> security code 10505-> adaptations -> expanded electronic differential lock [standard] to [not activated]

Works on most but not all 7.5s. confirmed working on my 19 SE PP LP DSG GTI

Although I've owned a Mk4 R32 for quite a while. I took a break from cars I'd be tempted to mod and just drove "normal" cars for a good while. It was SO relaxing to let my guard down and not give a crap where I parked or what roads and driveways I would have to negotiate.
But then, I recently got back into VW with a 2021 Mk7.5 GTI SE. It is quite a departure from my Mk4 in many ways.
Keep in mind I'm sort of new newb to these latest gen GTIs, so perhaps my knowledge and experience is lacking.
That being said, I think what I find most different, not sure I'd say it's a straight out disappointment, is that it seemed far easier to mod and cross mingle parts between all the years of Mk4s compared to say these Mk7/7.5s.
These new VWs are much more tech/software orientated for one. You can't just plug and play certain seemingly easy mods. Looks like you need to get into some coding to make a number of mods work. Didn't have to do all that in my Mk4.
And, I probably didn't do my homework before buying the 2021 Mk7.5. But, I didn't realize there are seemingly more technical limitations in the last outgoing gen of Mk7.5s compared to the earlier Mk7s. I mean changing aftermarket headlights and taillights is extremely limited is what I found.
What also annoys me is they say on sticker the Performance Monitoring is an option, yet, it's disabled. See dealer. When, if ever, are they going to get that software upgrade so I can get the digital boost gauge and g force monitor, etc...? Yes, I hear it's not exactly accurate and those digital gauge displays are mostly a gimmick. But, still, I really can't comprehend why they say it's supposed to have it yet they disabled it .. or rather it was never installed. It's a gimmick I think would still be cool and nice to have as previous Mk7s had them.
Idk, I feel the core years for the Mk7s we're the Mk7s between 2017-2019. I think they may have cleaned up some of the earlier Mk7 issues yet didn't omit or limit certain features like they did in the later 2020-2021 Mk7.5s.
And, I think majority of mods and aftermarket options are catered to the pre-2020/2021 Mk7s and the later models just don't have the support and compatibility of the earlier model years of the Mk7s. Take for instance MANY of the OBEeleven features just don't seem to work or aren't even available for the later Mk7.5s... which, honestly, was an early and fast waste of about $120 or so I found out. And, since it's an outgoing gen, I doubt there will be any further support and development for the Mk7.5s. what is out and most available are seemingly for the Mk7s mostly. The Mk8's are out, or slowly coming out, so that's where the focus will be moving forward.
You should know, when looking for a new car, I wanted to keep it simple and get a very good car I could be quite content with AS IS. So, I bought the 2021 Mk7.5 GTI. Because of the seemingly lack of support for the Mk7.5s, I think I basically got what I thought I wanted. I do feel my options, if I wanted to excercised them, are more limited than if I had bought an older 2017-2019 Mk7.
I am being much more picky about spending money on the GTI these days. I'm not into performance mods too much. I don't have driving situation where I need more than what comes stock which is actually plenty fun for me. The one thing I think I can and would like to get some day are lowering the car and a nice set of 19s. I think around $7-8k, having a nice profile and stance would go the longest way for my further enjoyment of the car. I figure about $2-3k on good coilovers suspension and all the work to set it up right. And, around $5k on perfect custom made wheels + tires that will fit perfectly.

The mk6 was the last raw GTI, ESC all the off, no fake engine noises, and less “safety features”

As a DSG 7.5 GTI owner i can tell you that the transmission isnt all that godly. It bogs ALOT. Auto downshifts from 2nd to 1st are ROUGH. I know a tune would fix it but when i was first owning it, it scared me and i thought it was broken or something. Oh and auto shifts, thats annoying.

One major upgrade I'm considering for my gti is putting a wavetrac differential. Heard it really helps with power transfer.
And that's only if you don't have a performance pack model

Love your MK7.5 I wish there was actual fast GTI near me instead of ricey bbs rep wheels and pop and bangs at every light. Hopefully I can make my MK6 as fast as your MK7.5

You can fully disable ESC through OBD Eleven.

On my mk7 2015 list would be the MIB1 CarPlay-less headunit, definitely clutch, quietnesses, taillights, & wheel bolts instead of studs, and Jack points

the run with the Vette makes it worth all the mods spend on the car

Dsg is faster, but i feel u bout a manual. A spulen bleeder block will make u happy. And direct injection clogs your valves. Get a diesel geek skid plate, will save your engine. Love my mark4 r32.
