El Al Flight 1862 - Crash Animation 2

Показать описание
El Al Flight 1862, a cargo Boeing 747-200 plane, was a flight between New York City to Tel Aviv with a stopover in Amsterdam on October 4, 1992. In total, there were 4 people on board, one of them being a passenger.
The Crash:
The leg between New York City and Amsterdam was uneventful, with the exception of three issues that were noticed: fluctuations in the autopilot speed regulation, problems with the radio and problems with an electrical generator on engine #3. The plane landed at Amsterdam at 2:31pm. The flight then was planned to leave at 5:30pm but was delayed until 6:20pm. After taking off from Amsterdam, the flight was directed to turn towards it's heading. At 6:27pm, the plane was flying over a lake near the city when the 3rd engine on the plane seperated from the jet, damaged the flaps and hit engine #4 tearing that engine from the wing as well. The pilots made a mayday call to ATC. They tried to return to the airport, but on their way back, the airplane lost control and started to nose-dive. The jet then crashed into a residental complex, killing all 4 people on board, plus another 39 people in the building. The crash was caused by metal fatigue in the mounting pins, which came loose in flight causing the detachment of the engine.
