I've researched a lot about WW1, WW2, the Falklands war, and Multiple Welsh wars. I'm definitely going to be researching about the Vietnam and Korean wars and Chinese civil wars. I love learning history, thanks for making such amazing videos everytime 😁

Out of every weird weapons, 7:29 this one takes the cake, a unique prototype of the B-52

There really needs to be a (new) game exclusively based around Vietnam, the potential for weaponary is incredibly expansive from modern automatic carbines to Czech kar98ks.

2 things to note on the Lazy Dog
1. It saw limited use in the Korean War even before its introduction in Vietnam,
2. It wasn't phased out because it caused gruesome, indiscriminate injuries (which it definitely did) what actually happened was around that time the US Military realized that large troop formation warfare was becoming more and more a thing of the past, and the guerilla warfare of Vietnam convinced them the weapon was no longer worth the effort to produce.

Agent Orange and the other Rainbow Agents was probably the most devastating of the weapons. 600, 000+ dead and 4 million suffering from mild to very severe adverse affects from exposure. The birth defects caused to the unborn children of parents who were exposed is horrendous.
The US troops also suffered from exposure. One source states that 400, 000 US personnel have either died from diseases or developed disabilities that are linked to their exposure.

Actually one the first times the Daisy Cutter was used, was in Laos in 1968 to help the MAC-V-SOG Recon teams insert into the jungle because too many of their LZ's were being booby trapped. The first time ST Idaho used them, they actually hit a massive ammo dump destroying a huge cache of NVA ammo in the middle of the jungle by pure luck.

Damn, the concept behind the Lazy Dog seems so simple yet it was so much more effective and devastating than regular bombs.

From the thumbnail, I thought that was an underbarrel flamethrower. It's even more unique than I thought.

I like how the animators are historically accurate with the Viet song as they did not just have ak47 but also mosin nagant rifles, ppsh41 smh and sks rifle.

The daisy cutter was fitted with an impact-inertia fuze in the tail as a back up. The stand-off device on the nose was filled with explosives, and helped to reduce the crater depth so helos could land.

I always thought the Daisy Cutter was a anti-structural bomb, so the reason for the kickname was lost on me. So fascinating to learn!

"Guys, those glorified lawn darts we're dropping by the thousands are indiscriminate killers that could lead to way too many civilian or U.S. casualties. Let's spray a dioxin containing defoliant over jungles and ricefields, killing children, causing starvation, and giving our own guys cancer instead" - probably somebody

My Uncle in one of his letters home from the Vietnam War wrote of how heart breaking it was to see entire sections of jungle being killed off by agent orange even calling it a war crime. He was killed a month before his 19th birthday.

I believe the fear in Vietnam war was about the bamboo traps and the other hand-made traps that we made.
We didn't have enough resources to research and make the modern ones, but I think the hand-made one did a good job.

They used some of their remaining BLU-82 "Daisy Cutter" in the first Gulf War. Not for clearing foliage of course, but just to decimate Iraqi units. It's said the first time they dropped one, some SAS that witnessed the blast thought the US had dropped a nuclear bomb. They had quite a massive blast...

The Flamethrower attachment should have been in Call of Duty Cold War. It will be a cool homage for the Flamethrower attachment from Back Ops 1.

I learnt in school that, Americans placed a lot of sensors around the Ho Chi Minh trail, but the Vietcong would use this to their own advantage. By relocating them into an area where they need to clear a path or trail, they then smack shovels, pots, basically make a lot of noise, then run far away from there. Then, the American airstrikes come, and clear a path for them, charge free. Man, we need a second episode, this time about Vietnamese ingenuity.

I know those kinetic projectiles are inhumane but I just love how simple they are.

As a Vietnamese, these weapons are terrifying and painful to see them did to our land. But it's surprising how effective they are.

A cool fact about the “Daisy Cutter” is that in the beginning of the War in the Middle East, the US dropped a few as a scare tactic to try to avoid unnecessary deaths from ground troops moving in. A group of Royal Marines saw this and radioed their superiors “The yanks are dropping bloody nukes!” It was the first time a British soldier had seen a Daisy Cutter in action
