THANK YOU! Finally somebody that showed the relations between pentatonic scales and chords. You have no idea, how necessary this video is.

I’ve been a player most of my life. Watched a bunch of instructors on you tube but I have never ever come across someone who could get me inside my head so fast. It’s unbelievable, stitch is a bloody genius. I’m 75 and I am a stitch fan and follower for the remainder, which I hope is a long time! God bless you man!

THIS. This is the key I’ve been missing. I’ve been playing for probably 20 years. I can memorize songs no problem but I always struggled with soloing and improvising. This helps!

I’ve been playing for 45 years I would strongly encourage any beginner level guitar players, and combined this lesson with the caged System (they’re pretty much the same thing)
It will take longer to learn to shred but the finished product will be well worth it. This is a great lesson.

Thank you.

I'm a self-taught guitarist. (Mel Bay and Guitar magazine). After 25 years of playing, I still had questions. I got stuck on a solo. Had no idea what to do. It felt like I was out of ideas. Then I found Mr. Stitch.

I applied one of his lessons, (singing your solo). And it changed the way I was approaching the song. And, it worked.

Thanks.

Wow, what a fun and easy to follow lesson. Within minutes I've been playing to backing tracks in a different, and maybe more musical, way. Keep up the great work!

I’m a singer/songwriter/frontman who started in open tuning. Have wrote some great rock n roll tunes on there. Even some ballads. Have relied on other people for gigs & recording the music because I’ve always wanted to stay in “my lane”. Around December last year I fell in love with the Dead. Jerry Garcia, his playing, it’s changed my life. Was jamming with my friend and did a pretty decent solo on his standard tuning. Didn’t really know what I was doing but I’ve always had an ear I trusted & believed in. He amped me up & since then I’ve been encouraged to learn this instrument, truly. I’ve seen many teachers on YouTube. IAN, YOU ARE SPECIAL BROTHER. In these months, I’ve soaked up this knowledge of your holy grail. I’m so proud of myself and of the journey this has been & will continue to be. Currently I’m visiting Minneapolis, going to Paisley Park tomorrow. 2 weeks ago I performed with Richie Cannata at the oldest rock n roll club in NYC(my hometown born & raised there).

I HAVEN’T EVEN WATCHED THE VIDEO YET LMAO I just wanted to say thank you. Cheers to you. Cheers to your family. Glad you’re posting. And may you continue to light the way for others brother. Peace ♊️🌒🥃

You are an incredible teacher, Ian. I feel like I’m gaining insight by leaps and bounds. I’ve watched several of your videos in the past but hadn’t checked out your Patreon until just this week. I am soooo glad I did. There are multiple online and in-person instructors I’ve been learning from the last 5 years and I do learn from them all but you, by far, are the best at breaking things down and getting concepts across. And your passion for guitar and being creative is contagious and inspiring. Plus somehow you make it feel like we are truly in a “room” working together. I didn’t think I could become any more obsessed with my guitar journey than I already am but my excitement just skyrocketed. Thank you for all you do!
