the 980s explorers led by Erik the Red set out from Iceland and reached the southwest coast of Greenland. Erik named the island "Greenland" (Grœnland in Old Norse, Grænland in modern Icelandic, Grønland in modern Danish and Norwegian). So they have been there for centuries too.

如果格陵蘭脫離丹麥, 那就更加有可能被美國併吞。他們留在丹麥名下才是避免被殖民的最好選擇

I don't believe Greenland should detach from Denmark, at least for the next four years. Just in case

It still bugs me that island full of ice is called Greenland and another island with greenary and majestic views is called Iceland.
Since Trump is in the mood of changing names of Gulfs and bays maybe he wants to buy Greenland to change its name to Iceland?

Did we liberate Greenland for Denmark in the second world war? I guess we already have an investment in Greenland.

The Danes are not popular among Greenlanders. Denmark has historically treated its colonial subjects very poorly, as is often the case with colonial powers. However, Greenland is currently struggling to achieve independence. It remains one of the poorest regions in Europe, with a small population, a harsh climate, and a vast territory requiring costly infrastructure.

Hopefully, as more of Greenland’s natural resources become accessible, the country will be able to afford independence. That said, Greenland has no interest in handing these resources over to America. While Denmark might be a devil, it’s the devil they know and unlike America one that provides universal free healthcare and free college.

Yeah, and apparently we have to call the gulf of America now and apparently he thinks the United States should own the Panama Canal because we did so well the first time
