In this video we take my apr stage 1 tuned 2017 mk7 gti to the dyno to see what the wheel horse power and foot pounds of torque are. I hope you guys enjoy watching us and remember this is on a stock clutch with only a apr stage 1 tune!

Send me things you want me to open up on camera here!

Thats crazy with just a tune.. these cars are nothing to be slept on. I scooted down an onramp with one a while back in my STI and was shocked that he was keeping up with me. Now i know why. Good job VW.

FACK! I have a Mk7 GTI. I’ve been watching your videos and I’ve always been like “fuckin stage 1 316whp? No way..” stoked to see our car puts out! Appreciate the proof. Cheers

First off, a dyno is a tool for tuning. It's all about what you came in with vs what you left with (under the curve gains, etc). There are many different filters you can view the data with, and variables to consider. One dyno could say you make 400hp, another 350... it would still run the same 1/4 mile and trap speed. Stage 1 is probably 13s @ 103-107 mph car in the 1/4. It's a fun car, and I am considering getting another one for a DD. Don't get too caught up on dyno numbers people, that's for people who like to stand around parking lots and measure each other's genitals.

That's great to know, saw the last video and my heart sank. I have apr stage 1 as well, and it sure feels like a HUGE boost in power, and now we know APR isn't messing with the numbers.

I'm shocked more people don't go the APR route, and the hate is unreal, the whole Chevy/Ford deal. It's so easy and great day to day driver, it's a no brainer, get it done and no messing with dongles, hand held stuff, it just works and works great.

Great numbers bro! I have a MK5 GTI DSG that I've been running APR stage 2 on since brand new..it now has 220k miles and has never given me any issues. APR is deff the way to go!

APR just released a "Bangs and pops" mode for Stage 2, so YOU GOTTA DO THAT LOL
The exhaust is going to sound crazy

The stock boost gauge is atmospheric pressure, psia, you subtract 14.7 psi to to get to actual boost psi

Just subbed. I just bought a 2017 gti and went apr stage 1 instantly. These cars are just plain sick. I haven't had anybody leave me yet. I've literally walked on anything that has tried me. These cars are in a class of their own. I love your videos and look forward to seeing what else you do with your car. Thanks for your videos and time.

Were any other modifications performed on this car other than the APR Stage 1 flash? Also, were the posted resulted corrected to SAE Net atmospheric standards?

I would have said 316hp at the flywheel at most, but no way to the wheels...WOW APR Stage 1 purchase on the way soon for my 2017 VW Golf GTI Autobahn DSG!! 😎

What are you running on your gti exactly? When I get my gti I want to base it on your gti. I was thinking about getting a golf r but i’d rather save 15k and get a stage 1 maybe even 2 into the gti.

Those numbers are INSANE. Would love to do this, but still have 6 years or 71, 400 miles left on the warranty.

Anyone who hates on this video drives a sti, facts or wishes they did. The same type of people who say glocks are the best pistols 😭 I only believe facts and facts are what this man provided me. 🙏🏼

I always change my oil every six months or 5000 miles whichever comes first. I use Pennzoil 5w-40 Euro synthetic in my MK7 and the Blackstone oil analysis shows impressive results using this oil.

Nice numbers. I keep hearing all sorts of different things about this - I have a new '17 GTI and want to go stage 1. I have a crap ton of warranty time left which I don't want to void since I've had a bad history of issues with my past VWs and everything with them seems to cost a small fortune to fix. What's the real story re APR and warranty - does it void it? Should I just wait until warranty is done and then go stage 1?

nice vdub.... I have a 2017 GTI autobahn. Whit APR stage 1 and a K&N cold air intake and my dyno run had 326 whp and 401 ftlb of torque at the wheels. It was 24 degrees out side on the day I dynoed it. I am putting a APR down pipe, APR 3" exhaust and stage two next week. I will let you know the dyno numbers with in a couple of days after.... I also in western pa, actually south western pa. about an hour south of pittsburg. Im using my wifes log in

The dyno sheet actually said engine horsepower (flywheel, unless thats the wheel you’re meaning?)

319hp at the fly seems correct, as 316 is whats stated by apr in the uk running 98/99 ron (octane) fuel.

319hp at the wheels seems incorrect as that would ROUGHLY mean about 340/350hp at the engine.

Also what did it run on the dyno before the tune was fitted as that would let you know how accurate the dyno is.

Those are good numbers at stage 1 and a mustang dyno. I'm so ready to go proper flash tuning or etuning. This JB4 custom tune is just not cutting it for me. I did a 275whp and 301wtq
