some people don't know that he got depressed when he got back, they sent him to a zoo where he lived there for 17 years, he sadly died alone

Just an observation, which is he was a child. Imagine how terrified he was.

Well? Did they get a human in space? I hate cliffhangers.

His heart rate shot right up. I'm sure that was a confusing and scary experience for him. I hope he was treated well afterwards.

What happened to Ham after this? A life of luxury or a necropsy to see internal effects? Or life in a cage?
Seriously, what did happen to Ham?

At the end the narrator said the chimp was lucky. This chimp's situation was unfortunate, to say the least.

Sadly Laika wasn't that lucky. But let's not forget her legacy. A street dog that opened the road to human-involved space exploration

This video didn't give an adequate description of this mission. There was no mention that Mercury's emergency abort system fired due to the Redstone deviating too many degrees from its intended trajectory, which was the result of a hot engine burning fuel faster than nominal. Then the retrorockets cut off sooner than planned, causing Ham to pull 15 gs on the way down and travel over 5, 800 mph (1, 400 mph faster than expected), ultimately splashing down over 130 miles where the capsule was supposed to. To top it all off, the heat shield punctured holes in the capsule's bulkhead, causing it to take on water and capsize.

Ham bit anything he could reach afterwards.

For some people that think that ham died in Impact there were barrier which stopped the interaction between ham and the hard metal

Dont send an innocent animal... send a death row resident instead.

Interesting. Sad. Necessary. Surely terrifying.

God bless his little heart. Thing was most likely terrified out of his mind.  I'm not a hippy by any means, but man I couldn't imagine what was going through that littles guys mind. I'm sure there were plenty of humans or mental patients back in those days that would of volunteered they could of sent up.
