The American Tesla sold 1.79 million EVs globally in one year, compared to the Chinese BYD’s 4.27 million. Let alone other big Chinese EV brands. Many electric cars e.g. All Tesla Model Y and 3 sold here in Australia are made in China with significant amount of technologies and key components such as battery (cells) even primarily supplied by their local companies (i.e. CATL; Panasonic has since become a distant second).
