It uses thousands of images and references of similar prompted images online. Saying that Dall E 2 has an imagination is both belittling to professional artists who take longer and put actual thought into it and also probably just annoying to the creators of dall e.

That's not "imagination", but advanced statistics.

This is not imagination. AI still needs input data to learn. It can't do abstract concepts and it's certainly not capable of generating new ideas....yet.

DALL-E does not generate the imagination, it is the human who types the text that has the imagination and the AI completes the task. We’re not there yet but heading there for sure.
