What is the Second Death?

What is the Second Death? The Bible says that all are appointed unto death, but unbelievers will not only endure the first death, but the second - the Lake of Fire.

I appreciate this pastors desire to help others and he has most of it correct. There are two resurrections. The first one at Christs return, the second after the millennium. Every human will be reunited with a perfected body in both resurrections. The judgments will be based on works and each persons comprehension to the law that they were given in life. If a man was taught to be honest in their dealings on a island that never learned about Jesus, they will be judged on how obedient they were to what they knew to be right or wrong. Completely just. The first death is when our bodies separated from our spirits. The second death is those spirits that committed the unpardonable sin will be removed permanently from the spirit of God and cast into Eternal torment. These individuals will be Satan, his followers who were also cast out of heaven. There have been just a few humans in worlds history who knew and comprehended the certainty of God and his will to be accountable enough to commit this particular sin. They would have needed to talk with God face to face and after receiving full understanding of his plan, turn him away. To my knowledge, no human ever committed this sin. The second death is reserved for satan and his followers.
