I grew up saying minner. Moved to Pennsylvania when I was 11. Nobody up here ever heard minner before. They call em minnies or minnows .

My dad taught me how to make one like that but we usually used giant glass pickle jars. Placement is key to getting lots of minnows

You could throw a sinker or two in the two liter bottle so it sinks immediately

i use the same diy trap only mine has holes in it to help it sink and stay down
