Those 2000's Steelers/Ravens games were the closest I'll ever get to witnessing Gladiators in Ancient Rome.

NGL im so tired i read the title and thought why 28 professional bowling players in the afc championship was something notable

Crazy that this was a "young" newer head coaching matchup alongside the massive amount of probowlers, and they are still both coaching their respective teams 16 years later as the longest tenured HCs in the league.

Wow Brett, you really cooked with this one. That intro feels like a documentary done by a multi-million dollar company.

Ravens-Steelers 2008 to 2012 was the most brutal five year run between two teams in the history of this league. Met in the playoffs twice. Accounted for three AFC Championships, two Superbowl titles and, at least, a hundred concussions. Amazing run in the AFC North.

Crazy these two coaches are still coaching these teams in this day and age.

The video quality on all this footage is INSANE. NFL will never regret letting you into the vault. Keep showing them how we run things on YouTube!

As a diehard Ravens fan, Big Ben at his peak was magic to watch. Infuriating, maddening, enraging magic.

This video touched me. I grew up a Steelers fan in the Carolinas, largely due to my dad, but other than him, it was Troy. It had to be Troy. Who else could make you love that side of the ball in that way. Who else could inspire you, gobsmack you, and fire you up in that way in that era. I'm a Panthers fan now, hometown teams just felt right to me once Troy retired, and the Panthers going on that wild run to 15-1 and a super bowl appearance right as I lost the guy who made me a football fan sealed it. But I'll always have fondness for this era of Steelers football. Forever in my heart.

Hands down, the most violent football game I've ever seen. Nothing has reached this level for me since.

And man, it was theater from beginning to end. I was hoping you'd make a video about this game someday.

Much like your video about the 2003 AFC Championship Game, I think this is one of the special times where the history of the NFL bent like light through a prism. And what we got was beautiful.

This game cemented the rivalry into NFL history forever, two legendary defenses standing on their heads for 60 minutes, waiting for that breaking point to happen, eventually Polamalu found it. I remember this game like it was yesterday, watching with my dad in our old family living room, every Steelers/Ravens game since has been an echo of that 2008 Championship matchup. It was storybook, I’ll remember that day always

"Sometimes he would get out of impossible situations." That is the simplest, yet most eloquent description of Big Ben's entire career. It was breathtaking to watch. I'm thankful.

Polamalu was the most fun player to watch. You never knew what he would do, but you knew he’d do something crazy. We need more players like him and more defensive schemes that can take advantage of those kinds of players.

This game was before my Cardinals played the Steelers in the Superbowl, often talked about as one of the greatest superbowls ever played.

This is why the 00s might be my favorite football decade

You had the modern fitness and exercise knowledge to make players the best they could be

But you still had an element of old school toughness

I was in Heinz for this. The place went absolutely electric when Troy caught that pick-6. Absolute elation. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and breakdown!
