I definitely agree that the micro greens taste better. We used to grow them a few years ago and used them in sandwiches and packed lunches, not to mention on fried eggs, scrambled eggs and in omelettes. I’ll have to start growing them again.

My family and I prefer the sprouts. They are extremely easier to eat as a salad. The sprouts, chicken, rasens, sunflower seeds, and Italian dressing. Extremely good! We eat it nearly every day.

This is my first week of sprouting, and this morning I had my broccoli sprouts on top of scrambled eggs and they were delicious!! If I try micro greens I would not want to use aluminum to grow them in.

If you keep the hulls and everything I would argue you could possibly get sprouts to go pretty far since they are not "transplants" until TWO set of true leaves. So you technically you don't need to supply nutrients. MlGardener does microgreens with just coconut coir for that very reason.

Microgreens do NOT have to be cooked (obviously) but sprouting seeds MUST be cooked when harvested because of the bacteria present. 0:11 Maybe that had something to do with the taste ? From UK at 9th March 2023. 20:32

I tried sprouts before but always found it easier and better for me to do the microgreens but grow it without any soil. I grow mine in water and nutrients.

I've tried numerous methods as well and have found jar method lacking in flavor. As your test showed though, I think the basic issue with jar method is lack of nutrients. This works for sprouts but not for microgreens that are close to first real leaf. The longer microgreen got nutrients and so grew more in the same period of time and tasted better. I now grow mine in a NFT channel which has really simplified the whole process. I do cover the first 48hrs after before taking top off to expose to light. Seems to increase number that germinate and agree with your thinking there too, that the young can be easily scorched and never fully sprout by the light. Great comparison that was very informative.

Hi Mate, where do you live?! Roughy obviously, cos outside looks smashing, looks like really deep snow and a wood, we (in Middlesbrough TS54DT UK), don't get deep snow anymore, if you look us up on street view youll see my house and the area, it is pretty over populated and run down, my boys LOVE to see videos of places that have lots of the white stuff. Btw, I've been sprouting for years but I'll give the micro greens a try now, normally Emma just adds ours to olive oil and balsamic vinegar then into a salad. Thanks for taking the time to make a video. Regards Gary Gray and family. UK. Glory to Ukraine. Got to put that as I'm just back from the front myself 🇺🇦😬.

Hello, I've never grown sprouts before and like the tin tray growing method, since you commented the flavour is tastier. Wondering what happens after you've harvested the first sprouts? Do you pull up and discard the remaining ends then grow your next crop or do they regrow and shoot again?

Subscribed cool channel ! How much would it cost for a full set up of sprouts 🌱?

Does each have different uses? Is one better for universal uses?

good video but if you move the camera closer to you it would be easier to see you and WHAT you are doing. What you are doing is the video and all the junk in the basement acts as a huge distraction from what you are trying to teach us. Get closer and lose all the distractios please !
