I'd recommend that you use the SoftwareSerial library in order to get rid of your arduino complaining problem when the switch is on!

Would you be able to open the door if there is a power outage from the inside? Will the original key work too? Or does the servo require too much torque to open when in the locked position?

i was thinking about doing something similar, only difference is that i wanted to create a cotter (i think it's called that (that thing that comes out of the door when you lock it)) and put it in the wall and lock it from the wall and not from the door. do you think it's possible?

Is this integrated into your homes electrical grid or this a stand alone battery powered system? About how much electricity does this use and can it be powered via solar? Could this be applied to a remote start in a car? I am trying to eliminate keys... I hate keys.

is it possible to replace the rfid reader with coding that reads a usb flash drive, for a key file? Perhaps has a second usb flash drive with file to compare it to.
