The Andromeda and Milky Way Galaxy Collision has BEGUN!

Despite numerous threats from outer space in the form of asteroids, exploding supernovae, rogue planets, black holes, cannibal galaxies and more, our home galaxy, the Milky Way has been relatively safe….or so we thought. Scientists predicted that in about 3.75 billion years from now our galaxy would eventually collide with Andromeda, our large spiral galaxy neighbour.

However new findings have shown that these predictions and the timeline may actually be totally wrong.

Galaxies don’t collide, they coalesce. The odds of stars colliding are still astronomical during the merger. There is so much space in between everything. Orbits will be affected that’s for sure.

"Chaotic mess of stars crashing into each other" aaand I switched to some other video. Stars actually crashing into each other will be an absolute exception, not the norm. Space is freaking vast
