This is soo IMPORTANT to make any change and drain the industrial swamp to create REAL competition for silicone valley!

I was a Contract Quality Assurance Manager for the US Air Force. In 1999 the office I worked in was reduced from about 30 people to 5 even though it could be proven that each person in that office saved the government 1$ million each. We were told that the contractors could be trusted to do their own quality assurance. The office was reduced following political pressure from the major contractor that we did business with. Federal law requires that the government provide oversight of all federal contracts and we were that oversight. I still feel that the office was made ineffective in violation of federal law.
