Most water is used in agriculture . Plants lose most of their water through transpiration mainly through their stomatas. Stomatas are not for cooling they are there for co2 uptake and o2 expulsion. When co2 goes up stomatas counts are fewer and remain open less as they search for a co2 molecule . Meaning they retain their water longer.
