President Biden gave a prime-time Oval Office address about his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election and his plans for the remainder of his first term. Mr. Biden shocked the nation Sunday when he posted a letter on social media, saying he believes "it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term." He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination shortly after.
